HOW MUCH COULD YOU GET PAID AT A LOCAL CLUB?

A lot of players around the country have no idea of what they are worth to a local football club. There is a lot of debate at the moment about whether local footballers should get paid and adjusting the points system to make local leagues more equitable than they are currently.

We think there is a lot of merit to adjusting points systems but think clubs will always find a way to pay good players good money to incentivise them to join their club.

So if you do play local football how much do you currently get paid?

If you play in the VAFA (one of the only leagues that doesn’t allow player payments) the answer is almost certainly $0, although the top players in your team (particularly if your club is in the premier division) are very likely getting some sort of incentive- whether it’s a crazy job, their child’s getting a scholarship to a private school etc.

If you have any experience playing state league (VFL, WAFL, SANFL, NTFL) footy or talent league footy your value per game could be anywhere from $500 to $5,000 per game.

If you were a good school level footballer in a good schoolboy comp but never went past that level, your value to a club could land anywhere between $200 to $2,500 per game.

If you are a good solid local footballer, rarely in the best but certainly not the worst each week, your value could be anywhere from $100 to $1,000 per game.

What do you think? are you getting paid around the mark? if not check out some of the adverts posted by club sin the home page of our app to prove we aren’t kidding about these kind of figures.
