A better approach is to practice being cognoscente of the single task you are doing at each moment, and giving that activity your full and focused attention. Imagine your energy as light. If you are attending to multiple tasks at one time, your light to be able to see these tasks properly is dissipated.
The energy is wasted to a degree, because none of the actions are lit properly. Yet when you focus your light, or energy, in one direction, your activity is illuminated as if by a bright torchlight. There is no energy wasted or sent in the wrong direction.
